General x-ray radiography is the imaging of body areas using x-rays, which is similar to light.

Different angles and positions are used to obtain a test. It is often a first test of choice for many ailments.

Today x-rays are thought to be safe test to order when necessary, but not risk free. Flying often provides a greater radiation dose than a common x-ray, however radiation is not part of the passenger in flight training.  Today a combination of scientific advancement, regulations and best practice makes general x-rays the most common test performed in radiology. The risk assessment is generally a question of whether it is  more risky to not have the test.

X-rays are not painful. They are like light so it is much like a normal photo

Please inform your doctor as your doctor may want to first investigate via another test first off or talk to you more about why the test is important. 

Please inform your your technician if you are pregnant. X-rays are considered a concern to the unborn, one which can be often mitigated by wearing lead.

You can breastfeed and have an x-ray or have an x-ray and breastfeed.

Since 2004 nearly 100% of tests have been bulk billed under medicare. To Do so: -We need to check your medicare details with medicare. This is done at reception. -We need your test and doctor to match the rules. Example 99.9% of all xrays requested by a GP or specialist medical doctor is a match for bulk billing. Legs and arms requested by a physiotherpist and chiropractor are not supported by medicare. Yes, but to assist only. Most assistance is not during the x-ray which is a split second long. It is getting ready or finishing up and typically you might be in and out the room.

Sometimes holding or calming or instructional translating is required during the x-ray.

Most certainly. If you are not helping then this is a situation when this might happen.

Definitely. Examples are:

-poor phone reception

-we need you to download your form to us so we can complete your request.

-your phone request is too complicated for us to grasp while working the reception desk and we need you to message us so we can check it out and get back to you. Make sure you leave a contact.

There is street parking. Many people combine their trip with Woolworths or Aldi as they are very close by.  Upfront at 4 pm is a clear way until 6 pm!
